A super hero effort from Pawnee

The Pawnee Coyotes needed a win, not only for the Homecoming crowd on the sidelines and their own spirits, but to keep their season alive.

Coach Doug Miller told the team at the pep rally Thursday afternoon that even though the team was 0-4, the Coyotes were playing “at the same level” as the other teams and had played close games.

“It would be sweet to get a win,” Miller said at the rally.

And win they did, 50-33 over Weldon Valley. The game had many penalties for both teams. At one point, assistant coach Dean Smock got a little too involved in the game and the ref asked him in...
