Miss Ruth Hildreth, daughter of W. E. Hildreth of New York city, was killed, and her sister, Dorothy Hildreth, was perhaps fatally injured in Hammondsport, near Rochester, N.Y., when Lincoln Beachey lost control of a 100-horsepower aeroplane and it swept a number of spectators off a roof from which they were watching the exhibition.
