Familiar face leads Police Department

"As long as they need me, I will be here to help," said Pine Bluffs Police Chief Don Taylor after being named the interim police chief.

Taylor took over after the recent resignation of Robin Clark. Taylor was the chief for three years before handing the reigns to Clark 16 months ago. He retired and began to travel with his wife.

"We went to Florida, Texas, Missouri, really all over the place," Taylor said. "I just got back from Missouri where I was hunting and got two deer."

Taylor said it is "like I never left." He noted the new dispatch will take some time to get used to, but he said any new process takes some time.

Taylor was confident and very proud of the two officers, Robert Armstrong and Char Madden, as well as Reserve Officer Mike Moore. Taylor said they might utilize Moore's service more often.

The department still has the option to use Cheyenne Police officers if needed.

Along with Marsha Heintz who does the bookwork four hours each evening, Taylor likes the strengths he sees in the department. "I'm glad to be back," Taylor said.
