Young driver wins big

Natalie Phelps, 14-year-old daughter of Alan and Melissa Phelps of Cheyenne, is following in her dad's footsteps as a race car driver.

Phelps won the championship for her class at Big Country Speedway in Cheyenne this past summer.

She was competing with the "Warrior Class," which is a 4 cylinder front wheel drive car. This is a class for beginners or "rookies" and is open to any age or gender. Phelps had won the mid-season championship earlier in the summer.
