Christmas Light contest promises fun for everyone

Residents should have their Christmas lights on and ready Dec. 16 as the ninth annual Christmas Light Decoration Contest in Pine Bluffs begins.

“We encourage people to decorate every year,” said recreation director Sonja Formstrom, who started the contest in 2005.

Everyone is encouraged to participate, and the winners chosen will receive a $10 cash prize. Ten winners are chosen. However, Formstrom said participants can only win every other year, to make the contest fair for all.

Those who wish to participate in the contest should illuminate their houses between 6 and 8 p.m. on Dec. 16....
