Obituary: June M. Helms

June M. Helms, 77, of Pine Bluffs died Dec. 6, 2013 at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne.

June was born on Sept. 22, 1936 in Culen, Mo, the daughter of Benny L. and Imogene (Bouren) Trammell. On Aug. 5, 1956, June married Hubert Warren Helms, Jr. in North Little Rock, Ark.. June worked as a bookkeeper in the banking business for a number of years. In recent years she was a foster grandparent in the public schools and also worked at the Pine Bluffs Museum.

June is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Romig and Julie Holmes, both of Pine Bluffs. Also surviving are two sisters, Nancy Trammell of Denver, Colo., and Paula Gorbutt of Goodyear, Ariz, and two grandsons.

June was preceded in death by her husband Warren, her parents and two brothers, Jimmy Trammell and Larry Trammell.

Memory services were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Pine Bluffs Baptist Church with Pastor Dan DeBruyn officiating. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Pine Bluffs Baptist Church, American Cancer Society or Davis Hospice Center.
