Albin community news

Twas the day after Christmas and all through Albin, not a creature was stirring, not even a bunny. The farmers were content the cattle were fed and a few extra cuttings kept them smiling as they went to bed.

The families welcomed home loved ones from afar and asked them to stay, even if they had a car.

The community center was closed. No swimming, exercising or dining to be had Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. No parties to attend New Years Eve. No coffee to drink over discussions of the new calendar New Years Day. Jillian and Jillian (no, not a mistype) and Michelle were snug in their pj’s, thanking the council for the respite and the time at home with their families.

When what to our wondering eyes should appear but a year labeled 2014 with new adventures and experiences just waiting, no fear.

2013 brought a few losses, some more difficult to explain and understand. It also brought laughter and memories to fill in the barren land of hurt.

The new year is here, what a wonderful sight. May it bring warmth to your chill, bread to your hunger, laughter to your tears and never let you wonder how much you are loved.

Happy New Year!
