Albin Community News

Legislative session began Monday. Thank you, Representative John Eklund, for representing Albin and the surrounding area so thoughtfully and professionally. If you have any questions or concerns about the budget or a bill going through, Eklund says calling is the best way to reach him.

News from the school:

Albin Elementary School, along with the Albin Parent Group, will host an Albin Community~Family History night Thursday, February 13 in the community center from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Kristina Millard, second grade teacher, along with Jill Lerwick, Parent Group chairperson, had community members talk to student during lunch twice a week leading up to the event.

These long-time area residents shared their family history and how some of their parents or grandparents homesteaded in this region many years ago.

Community members, along with parents and school staff are encouraged to attend the Community Family History night Feb. 13. To further educate students about the Albin community, attendees are encouraged to make a simple poster with historical pictures and or maps that represent their family roots. Door prizes and a prize for the most creative poster will be awarded.
