Hornets beat Panthers

Hunter Thompson goes in for a dunk Friday night facing off against Saratoga.

The Hornets vs. Saratoga game that began neck-and-neck Friday night ended in a 14-point lead for Pine Bluffs.

The first half ended with Saratoga and the Hornets tied 12 and 12, but it didn't take long for the Hornets to widen the margin in the second quarter, 27-17. But by the third quarter, Trent Werner was injured during play, taking him out of the game. The Hornets then saw an increase in turnovers.

"The last four minutes of the third quarter was probably the worst basketball we have played in a long time," said Coach William Gray. "However, the kids bounced back and played well the rest...
