Becoming better by wasting time

My friends and family often see playing video games as a waste of time.

"Quit playing that thing and go play outside," My mom and dad would often say to me in my early years of gaming as I was playing Mario on my original Nintendo.

My friends and siblings also became agitated with me on days I couldn't put the controller down.

"Come on, let's go play outside," My two brothers and sister would say to me as I played through the game "Glover" on my Nintendo 64.

Throughout the years of me playing video games, and people telling me it's nothing but a waste of time, I began to agree with them.
