Hornets take third at Pine Bluffs Invite

Pine bluffs athlete Jorge Garcia and Burns athlete Noah Taylor were neck-in-neck to the finish line in the 3200 meter run. Garcia won with a time of 10:55.50. Taylor's time, 10:55.58. The crowd cheered on the runners through all eight laps. However, when it came down to the final stretch fans were out of their seats, roaring for the two athletes to beat the other one. Every eye could not wait to see the end result.

Pine Bluffs Coach Dustin Lee was impressed with the boys track team's performance Saturday at the Pine Bluffs Invite, as the team took third overall.

"I am really impressed with the boys team in general," Lee said. "They have been kicking some tail."

The Hornets beat out Potter-Dix with a total score of 65 points. However, the score wasn't enough to beat the Burns Broncs (98). The Lingle-Fort Laramie team took first overall with 129 points.

Lee said he was especially impressed with Preston Thurin, Norman Wyatt, Trent Werner and Javier DeLaCruz and their performance in the 4x100 meter relay,...
