Knights get close to golf tourney goal for 10th year

The Pine Bluffs Knights of Columbus held its 10th Annual Golf Tournament Saturday in hopes of filling the event for the first time ever, but came up one team short of the anticipated 18 teams.

"We have never filled this event," said Knight Dennis Talich. "And that remains true today."

Nineteen teams initially signed up to participate in the golf tourney, which would have made it the biggest tourney since its conception, Talich said, but two teams pulled out before competition. That didn't keep the remaining 17 teams from enjoying the day, although overcast skies and strong winds made play...
