Lady Hornets take third-place victory at state

The Pine Bluffs Lady Hornets came up 2.5 points shy of taking second place overall at the state track meet in Casper.

Although the Lady Hornets ultimately lost the second-place spot to Big Horn, taking third was impressive for the small track team, said Coach Dustin Lee.

"We just have some exceptional athletes, leading us as seniors this year," he said.

The Lady Hornets had a number of top performers at state, including Celestial Jackson, who took second place in the 800 meter run (2:29.26); Austin Asay, who took second place in the 3200 meter run (12:27.04); and the 4x100 meter relay team,...
