New track installed by old student

Burns High School's track and football field have been stripped and is being replaced with a new track and field done by Knife River. The track and field will be completed in August.

A Burns native is repeating history as he helps put in the new Burns High School's football field and track, just as he did 43 years ago.

Les Horst, project superintendent of Knife River, helped install a track and field at Burns in 1971 when he was going to be a freshmen at Burns High School. He helped lay the sod on the football field. Horst said a lot of volunteers, including a lot of athletes, helped put in the old track.
