Barrel race champion still participates in small town rodeo

The Pine Bluffs Double Bar G Rodeo's has events for all ages. Barrel racers of all ages come to town to show off their skills and try to get faster times. A Hillsdale woman who has been seen for many years at the Pine Bluffs rodeos continues to participate in the one event she knows she's good at.

Vianna Gurney, of Hillsdale, started barrel racing when she was 14 years old. Gurney said she has rode horses all her life. Gurney said she would flag the roping at the Pine Bluffs rodeos. Her family has also participated in Pine Bluffs rodeos. Her son roped and rode bulls, her daughter ran barre...
