What a difference a week can make

Marva Ellwanger

What a difference a week can make. Last week at this time I was handling advertising for the Sidney Sun-Telegraph. I was dreading sending my youngest daughter off to college. Kylie only being 17 years old and heading off to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln had us all a little worried. My daughter is the queen of waiting until the last-minute. On Friday night she finally started packing. I don't think it was real for either of us until she started loading the car. I couldn't help think what adventure she was going to have.

Those were the same thoughts that went through my mind as I was driving to the Pine Bluffs Post Monday morning. Just like it was an adventure 12 years ago when we packed our bags in Omaha Nebraska to move to Sidney. We embraced living in a small town. It didn't take us long to get involved in the community. When the kids played on teams we volunteered to be coaches. When my daughter was in Girl Scouts I became a leader. When I was asked to sit on the board for the Chamber of Commerce in Sidney, I was honored. That is exactly how I feel about becoming the General Manager of the Pine Bluffs Post, I am honored.
