John R. Stevens

John R. Stevens, 63, of Grand Junction, Colo. passed away September 7th from complications of frontotemperal dementia.

John was born in Cheyenne, September 11, 1950 and was raised in Pine Bluffs. He graduated from Pine Bluffs High School in 1968 and attended the University of Wyoming.   He was proud of his service in the Navy during his two terms of duty in the Vietnam War.  In 1971 he married Kathy Messer, they settled in Evanston, and had two daughters.  He sold insurance for Farm Bureau and served two terms as Uinta County Commissioner before moving to Grand Junction, Colo. in 1991 t...
