Bushnell seeks helping hand

Law requires upgrades to road signs in village

The street signs that line the streets of Bushnell are in need of an update. The street signs aren't visible at night and some posts are missing their actual signage.

The Bushnell community is asking for contributions to help upgrade road signs.

After the last Village Board Meeting in Bushnell, Norma Szobody, the secretary for the Community Center Board, volunteered to launch a fundraising project to raise money to replace the village's stop signs.

Szobody said federal laws requires all villages and cities to have highly reflective signs to enable emergency vehicles to find addresses. This will put Bushnell in compliance with the traffic and street signs.

Szobody said the village needs 68 two-sided, reflective street signs as well as a new breakaway post...
