Chlorine still in season

Residents in Pine Bluffs have been asking why their water tastes like chlorine.

Tom McDonough, Maintenance Supervisor with the Town of Pine Bluffs said chlorine is put into the town water during the summer and taken out for irrigation and harvest season. However, the chlorine hadn’t been taken out of the water supply yet. Chlorine is used as a disinfectant in the ground water pipes. About .1 to .2 parts per million of chlorine is the average amount put into the town’s water.

The chlorine in the water is tested with a chlorometer. McDonough said the town’s water is tested every month...
