Hornets stung by Eagles on the road

The curtain dropped on the Pine Bluffs Hornet’s football season on the road Friday at Dayton. The feisty Hornets fought all the way to the last minute, but couldn’t overcome the Tongue River Eagles’ early onslaught as they fell 53-22.

Tongue River struck early in the first to go up 7-0. On the proceeding kick off, the Hornets’ Preston Thurin couldn’t secure the ball and fumbled it. The fumble was promptly picked up by Eagle Matthew Lobach, who ran it in for a score. The two-point conversion attempt was good to give the Eagles a 15-0 lead.
