A simple act of kindness goes a long way for students at Burns Elementary School who have been working on Project Giving.
The elementary students are reading "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein. There are two main characters in the story, a boy and a tree. The tree gives what it can to the boy and the boy takes what the tree offers. For Project Giving, the students are asked if they are giving and taking. The younger classes have partnered with the older classes to practice good character traits, whether they are giving or receiving.
