LCFD4 Chief Phil Oakes receives a check for $2,000 from a Farm Credit Services representative for new equipment.

Fire District #4 will use a $2,000 grant from Farm Credit Services of America to purchase grain bin rescue equipment.

The equipment to be purchased is called the Great Wall of Rescue and the monies were donated through the Working Here Fund.

Based in Carpenter Wyo., Fire District #4, a strictly volunteer department, serves more than 270 square miles in Wyoming and has a mutual aid contract with northern Colorado.

Though there have not been any recent grain bin incidents, the need for the equipment is based on the rural area the department serves and the large number of grain bins throughout...
