If everything goes as planned the school district could break ground at the end of the calendar year, and the artist's rendering above could become a reality, with students from the Class of 2030 beginning classes in the Fall of 2017.

Despite being in the works for a decade, there has been no bond issue, no rise in property taxes, and still no new elementary school.

Residents should not expect a rise in taxes because there will be no bond issue since the state of Wyoming funds new schools, according to Kim Nelson, Laramie County School District #2 Facilities Manager.

"We have been trying to get (the project) back into the budget," Nelson said.

"Ten, twelve years ago, (the state) purchased land outside of town, because there were no options available in town. Or we felt like there were no options available in town." Nelso...
