Pawnee girls show marked improvement

The season may have ended last week for the Pawnee High girls’ basketball team, but coach Megan Malcom can point to some marked improvements over the final few games.

The Coyotes dropped a 42-35 decision to Heritage Christian last Wednesday in the opening round of the Colorado Class 1A District 4 tournament at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling. The loss ends Pawnee’s season at 2-17.

Pawnee won its final two regular-season games. It had played Heritage Christian in December and was blown out 60-30. The playoff game was much different.
