Serving all of Eastern Laramie County since 1908

Banner County News

Good morning! Banner County, neighbors and friends near and far. Hope you are all well and dealing with the crazy weather. Weeks mixed with winter/spring and lots of wind here lately. A friend told me that we were supposed to have winds up to 60 miles per hour this past Sunday. I do not know if that happened; however, it sure gave it a good try. Forget trying to fly a kite, no way could you keep a hold of one. By about 5 p.m. it was absolutely beautiful out.

Happy Easter to each and everyone of you also. My favorite season and reasons to remember all that we have to be thankful for, life. Regular Sunday services will be held at the Harrisburg Community Church and again Sunrise services will be held in the hills at the Bob and Wilma Post place. If you need directions please call either them or the church, everyone is welcome. Breakfast will follow the service.

Banner County students will enjoy a break by having Friday and Monday, April 3 and 6 off. When they return to school they will jump in and be off and running immediately. County Government Day and more testing will be on Tuesday, April 7, and the testing will continue almost on a daily basis throughout the month of April.

There will be a junior high track meet on Wednesday, April 8, beginning at 9:30 a.m. here at home and on that same day state FFA Convention will start and continue through Friday.

Preschool and kindergarten 'Round Up ' will be held on Friday, April 10. Current preschoolers will enjoy part of a day in kindergarten and current kindergartners will enjoy a day at home.

Congratulations to Wittni and Kyle Boettcher on the arrival of the newest addition to their family. Kort Scott was born March 21, 9:35 a.m., and weighed in at 6 pounds, 10 ounces and 19-1/2 inches long. He is very much welcomed by big sister and brother, Makynna and Quincy.

The nasty bug that has plagued the school forever is still hanging around. The cough and generally lousy feeling that it brings can be seen in K-12th and everywhere else. Here is wishing you all well real soon, and less wind and some rain might help that situation.

Happy Birthday this week to LaDonna McGowan, Danny Gifford, Paula Brown, Lana Sides, Cooper Elsen, Justin Stauffer, Braylen Schmist, Brady Cross, Brett Cross, Ryan Norman, Makynna Boettcher, Kelani Marci Cross, Bo Reichenberg, and Marianne Carlson.

Anniversary congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Farro and Steve Ruhl.

Well, that is about all for this week, short and sweet, right? Have a great week everyone, and take care until the next time. Send your news to [email protected], 436-7152, or 641-1335, and thank you. Barb Cross (Mrs. Rod)
