Major construction project to begin on I-80

The trucks are lining up, and WyDOT employees are making preparations to begin detouring traffic from the westbound lane of I-80 to the eastbound passing lane from just east of Pine Bluffs to just west of the Muddy Creek overpass as a major $9.99M construction project begins April 13.

As you have no doubt noticed, there has been an increasing number of workmen and trucks on Interstate 80, in and around the two exits to Pine Bluffs, and over the Muddy Creek Drive area. You will be seeing a lot more of them as the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WyDOT) begins a multi-year project to replace the Beech Road, Parsons Street and Muddy Creek Drive overpasses.

The work going on, on I-80, involves creating detours for westbound travelers, but the real work will begin April 13, when the Beech Street overpass will be demolished. It will be done overnight, between the hours of...
