Burns girls take first at Pine Bluffs meet

Burns High School senior Ashley Turner was the leader of the pack Friday during the Pine Bluffs Invitational Meet. She is shown her outdistancing her Potter-Dix opponent Hope Shepard during the 100m Dash, for a first place finish. She also placed first in the 200m Dash, was part of the winning team in the 4x400 Relay.

In a close run for the finish line, literally, the Burns girls edged out the Pine Bluffs team by a mere half-point to take first place over 17 events, and in a field of seven teams on a day that started out good for a track meet. The weather held off long enough for all of the athletes to finish their events before heading home, unlike the week before when the Glenrock meet was postponed due to the weather.
