Bartels is new Mayor-elect of Burns

The Burns Town Hall was busy with voters today, as they decided who was going to run the town government for another term.

Judy Johnston, the incumbent in the mayoral race, lost to Ralph Bartels, 36 to one.

Others receiving write-in votes included James Clark and Vernon Testerman, Sr., both with two votes, and Rich Bastian and Jeff Appleman with one each.

In the councilman race, for four year terms, Rocky Stoner and Betty Nussbaum won with 33 and 29 votes respectively. Coming in a close third was Charlie Vosler, elected to the council in 2013, with a total of 26 votes.
