Visiting Yellowstone in late June challenging for regional tourists

Surprisingly, we saw some “local” tourists from Wyoming, Montana and Idaho in Yellowstone this past week while making two trips through the world’s first national park.

Most regional folks try to get there in early May, late September or early October. The crowds, well, they are just too much for most of us who live in such isolated states.

Have you ever been in Disneyland?  In a typical day, more people are there than are in the entire state of Wyoming.

In many ways, Yellowstone is getting to be that way. And this year is looking like an all-time record. Right now, visitation is up...
