Bocox's skating scores scholarship

Brianna Bocox, third from the left, participates in an outdoor inline skating match. These matches are similar to those of marathon ice speed skating and of road bicycle racing. The skaters will form packs behind a lead skater. Then they speed up to weed out slower competitors.

Brianna Bocox of Burns has been skating since she was eight. In her second year of inline skating she took fourth place in the Nationals in Nebraska. Now, a decade later, she has won a spot on TeamUSA to compete in Taiwan. But its the bits in between that has made it all possible.

In May 2015, Brianna graduated from Burns High School, and received the Olympic Training Opportunity Scholarship. When asked about it Brianna elaborated on the benefits, "It allows me to go to Salt Lake Community College, and train at the Olympic Oval, for an in-state tuition rate."
