WYGF launches updated website

If you have ever struggled with the search function or had trouble looking at the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s website on your phone or tablet you should be happier when you visit wgfd.wyo.gov today. Game and Fish just launched an updated website incorporating suggestions from the public and ideas based on past website data. The new site also has an improved search function and adjusts to best fit the user’s device or screen size.

“We know most of our customers now visit our website on their smartphones and we want to be responsive to the public. This site is mobile-friendly and should make the most sought-after information more readily available,” said Renny MacKay communications director for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.

The website redesign was done in house and incorporates an updated content management system using new technologies. The previous site was not mobile friendly. On the new website there is also more local information from each of the eight Game and Fish regions.

“We have saved money and made things more efficient by putting our license buying and application system online. At the same time we have realized there is more to do to make our website as user friendly as possible and made that a priority,” MacKay said.

Game and Fish is working to add more new online functions. There is work to improve mapping and to also make updates to the electronic licensing system.
