Lady Hornets compete in Big Horn Tournament


icked off on Friday, Sept. 11. Making the trek from Pine Bluffs, the Lady Hornets took on several teams from across the state winning their pool on Friday.

According to coach Chris Nusbaum, games on Friday were pool play. Nusbaum said the Lady Hornets won their pool on tie breakers.

The Lady Hornets opened their pool play against Wind River and ended up splitting the games 1-1. 17-25, 26-24.

Against Rocky Mountain, the Lady Hornets swept, 25-14, 25-13.

They followed the win against Rocky Mountain by splitting against Sundance, 20-25, 25-20.

According to Nusbaum the results from Friday seeded the Lady Hornets in fourth. They started their day facing Sundance and dropped in two sets, 15-25, 20-25.

This put the Lady Hornets against the home team, the Big Horn Lady Rams for their final games. The home team was able to sweep 7-25, 23-25.

The Hornets are now 4-5 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

The Pine Bluffs Lady Hornets JV team also competed at the tournament going 4-2 in pool play for the weekend. The JV team lost their set to Sundance but defeated Big Horn on Saturday.

The Hornets are now 4-5 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
