Hornet football season ends with 28-25 loss to Eagles

Junior Hornet running back Ruger Lewis barrels up the middle for a first down in high school football action Friday night. Despite a last minute surge, the Hornets fell 28-25 to the visiting Tongue River Eagles on senior night.

Despite a late fourth-quarter surge, the Pine Bluffs Hornet football team ended their season Friday night with a 28-25 loss to Tongue River. With the loss, Pine Bluffs finishes the season at 3-4 in regional play and 4-4 overall.

"I thought the kids gave us everything they had," said coach Will Gray. "We took a step forward this season to building a winning program."

It was senior night for the football team. Seniors honored before the game were Trent Werner, Kyle Jeffres, Bryce Eastman and Taylor Haug.
