Marilyn Ann Williams

Marilyn Ann Williams, 67, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 17, 2015, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Ga. She succumbed to injuries she suffered as a result of a fall she endured on Sept. 30, 2015.

Marilyn was born in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, Canada on Nov. 21, 1947, to Rev. Herbert and Elsa (Goebel) Miller, and was the youngest of three children.

In 1965, Marilyn graduated from Pine Bluffs High School, in Pine Bluffs. She soon married Walter ‘Skipp’ Williams, the love of her life, and had the first addition to their family in December of 1967, and the second in October of 1971.

Until the time of her stroke in 2013, Marilyn loved to paint and design artificial flower arrangements and wreaths.

Marilyn is survived by two daughters, Wendy and Tammy, and their husbands Sid Duckworth and Billy Adkisson, respectively; and five grandchildren, Natasia and Megan Upadhaya, Justin Harrison, Justin ‘McCall’ and Beth Adkisson. She is also survived by her brother, Rev. Donald Miller; and her sister, Margaret Koessel, their spouses; and several nieces and nephews.

As per Marilyn’s wishes and prior arrangements, her earthly body has been cremated by SouthCare Cremation and Funeral Society. A private celebration of her life and legacy will be held during this Christmas season, her favorite time of year.

Those wishing to make gifts in memory of Marilyn are asked to contribute to the MS Society. The family asks friends to honor Marilyn’s memory by lighting up the world with a simple smile, and showing God’s love to others throughout each day.
