Hereford News

The folks at the Hereford Community Church gathered early this week, Nov. 29, to decorate the church for the Christmas season. Joyce Smock was celebrating her birthday.

For the special, Carol Opdycke read about the first candle in the Advent wreath. The sermon topic for the day was Anticipation. The scripture was from Matthew 1:18 through 2:23.

On Dec. 6 the sermon topic will be The Christmas Prophecies. On Dec. 13 the topic will be The Family Tree. On Sunday morning, Dec. 20, the topic will be Joseph and Mary. Then on Sunday evening, Dec. 20, the church will have their Christmas candlelight service beginning at 7 p.m.

The 55 And Up Club will hold their monthly potluck luncheon on Friday, Dec. 11, at 12 p.m., in the Friendship Alliance North Church. Everyone 55 and over is welcome to attend. Come and join in the fun with your family and friends. There will also be a door prize.

This will be our Christmas celebration luncheon with the soup and sandwiches provided. Those attending are asked to bring a side dish to share. Carol Enderson will have a slide presentation of one of the families’ most recent trips.
