Hornet hoopsters take two of three at Lusk

Pine Bluffs sophomore point guard Haize Fornstrom brings the ball up the court in recent varsity boys basketball play. Last weekend, the Hornets took two of three contests at the Tiger Jamboree in Lusk to improve their overall record to 5-2.

Coach Will Gray nearly had his boys go unbeaten over the weekend at the Tiger Jamboree, if it hadn't been for a last second comeback by Greybull last Friday. As it stands, the boys have a 5-2 record heading into the winter break.

The Hornets were poised to hand the Buffaloes their first loss of the season. Greybull held a slight 14-11 lead at the end of the first quarter, but PB answered back in the second to lead 30-21 at the half.

Both teams were evenly matched in the third, with Greybull barely outscoring the Hornets 12-10, but Pine was still able to maintain a 40-33 lead headi...
