At the halfway point through his junior year, Pine Bluffs High School center Hunter Thompson set the school's all-time scoring record in boys basketball. College scouts starting contacting Thompson in his sophomore year.

Basketball. Basketball has been a part of Pine Bluffs High School Junior Hunter Thompson's life for several years. From going with his dad to practice, to traveling in the summer with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), basketball has dominated Thompson's life so much, it has drawn the attention of his mother, Wynema Engstrom.

"My mom has said I haven't been able to be a kid," Thompson says.

Thompson's love for basketball began when he was in Kindergarten.

"My dad (Todd Thompson) was the (Pine Bluffs) high school basketball coach, I used to go to practice with him," he said.
