2,000-gallon tanker is latest addition to fleet
Laramie County Fire District #5 took delivery of this new 2015 International tanker truck last Thursday. This truck will replace the former tanker that served the district for 32 years. The purchase was made possible by fifth-penny money from Laramie County, a SLIB grant, another grant from the Fire Chief's Association and internal funds.
After a nearly year-long wait, Laramie County Fire District #5 took delivery of its new tanker truck last Thursday.
"This is a brand new tanker, otherwise called a tender, that is replacing a previous 1983 truck we had," said LCFD5 assistant fire chief Derek Walls. "It holds 2,000 gallons of water, but it will also be able to pump a fairly decent amount of water if we need it as a backup pumper or backup engine."
The new truck is a 2015 International that was custom-fitted at Rosenbauer in SouthDakota.
