Local high school track and field seasons jump off the line March 24

Pine Bluffs' Ishamael DePaulitte springs off the track while competing in the long jump during last year's Kimball Invitational.

It's hard to believe it's already spring, which means it's time for area high schools to start track and field seasons.

The Pine Bluffs boys and girls will kick off their 2016 season this Thursday by heading to Kimball to compete in the Kimball Invitational.

The Hornets and Lady Hornets are hoping to improve on last year's third place showing.

Also on Thursday, the Burns track and field team will visit Morrill to take part in the Morrill Early Bird meet.

The Broncs and Lady Broncs combined for a third place finish last year and look to better that mark this year.

The Burns Broncs are also hoping to defend their 2015 state championship.

Weather permitting, both teams will be in action Thursday.

Look for results and additional coverage in next week's issue of the Pine Bluffs Post.
