Last Wednesday, LCFD5 responded to a house fire on the 1200 block of County Road 154. Response time was hampered by severe weather conditions and the home was fully involved when firefighters arrived on the scene. The building was deemed a total loss, leaving Alan Matie and his family without a home.
A Burns family is safe but without a home and most of their belongings after a fire destroyed their residence the morning of March 23.
Firefighters from Laramie County Fire District #5 responded to a report of a structure fire located at 1297 County Road 154 at 6:20 a.m. The building, which belonged to Alan Matic, his wife and two daughters, was deemed a total loss.
LCFD5 assistant fire chief Derek Walls said a cause has not yet been determined, although he did say the fire originated near a wood-burning stove in the residence.
