Pine Bluffs Post - Serving all of Eastern Laramie County since 1908

Albin News

The joy of graduation and all the extra company is but a memory. We now move into the thick of summer with school ending this week and family vacations hitting the roads. Before you hit the road, you might want to check out the Albin Community Garage Sale at the Community Center May 26 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. and May 27 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

After Memorial Day festivities, you might want a little local fun. The Pine Bluffs Community Garage Sale will be Saturday June 4 from 8 a.m. until the last sale.

Also going on that day is the Airport Open House with free airplane rides, prizes for the kids, free lunch and even a peak into some old planes. A bake sale and a road rally pit stop are also going on in Pine Bluffs that day. A good day to visit our southern neighbors.

The Albin Baptist Church will host their Vacation Bible School in June. Contact Pastor John at the church for more information.

And keep those youngsters swinging this summer with baseball season. Sign up the kids for a team or volunteer to help at the community center.

Don’t let summer slip away without letting us know your news. Contact the community center by 5 p.m. Monday to get it included in that weeks paper.

May you enjoy the freedom of our country this Memorial Day and remember those who fought and paid the ultimate price for us. Memorial Day would not be possible without their loss. So respect and enjoy the gifts of this country.

Delta Club Meets

Thursday, May 19, Delta Club met at the home of Vernita Anderson. Members Present were Judy Anderson, Vernita Anderson, Joy Barnes, Martha Cannon, Marcel Harrell, Wanda Moore, Jerrene Randall and Pat Palm. Our guest was Jean Branigan. Vernita served Miguel’s famous burritos, french toast bake, fruit, homemade cinnamon rolls and muffins. We had a short business meeting,

Sharing with us was Wanda Moore. She told how when her mom was in Aspen Winds she spent time there and made many new friends. After her mom passed away she continued visiting. She would share things she got at a yard sales and from her travels. The older items sparked lively remembrances. She now has a display case at Aspen Winds that she changes out monthly. Wanda then spends time with her friends and has such a fun time hearing their memories.

And a very good time was had by all!
