Pine Bluffs boys earn 2A championship; girls finish fifth | Burns girls and boys place eighth and twelfth respectively

The Pine Bluffs boys track and field team edged out second-place Thermopolis by just 5.25 points last week in Casper to earn its first 2A State Championship since 2011.

Whatever is in the water in Pine Bluffs, somebody better bottle and sell it...quick! Whatever the secret ingredient is, it's creating state champions! Just a couple months after the boys and girls bring home 2A state basketball championships, the boys track and field team earn one of their own.

At the state track and field meet in Casper this past weekend, the Pine boys were able to hold off Thermopolis to take the 2A title, but it wasn't without a fight. The margin of victory was a meer 5.25 points, with the Hornets topping out at 88.25 points to 83 for the Bobcats. The next closest threat...
