Pine Bluffs Post - Serving all of Eastern Laramie County since 1908

Albin News

Rain rain go away. The old saying of watching what you wish for is certainly true. The weeds think it is great but our lawn mowers sure would like a break. Maybe in June. As long as we still can travel the flooded roads.

Traveling, picking weeds or even mowing the grass, we all have the need to buy and sell. The Albin community garage sale provided a good shopping experience. About seven families brought in their wares for others to purchase.

If you still have items to sell or possibly a need for more stuff to own, plan to be in Pine Bluffs Saturday, June 4. Starting at 8 a.m. you can wander through more than 30 sales throughout town and the city park. Also on Saturday is the airport open house from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., a bake sale at the visitor center, and a pit stop for the Sugar Valley Rally at the community center from 2 to 3 p.m.

Speaking of pit stops, the classic cars in the rally will be in Albin at the community center starting at 9:40 a.m. Saturday. There will be approximately a car a minute for about an hour. The center will host a small reception for the drivers and anyone who wants to come take a peak.

Ever since cars began, we have needed roads to travel on.

Larson Street was milled last week and will be repaved this summer. Through the summer the sewer work will continue on Fifth Street, so watch where you drive in our little community.

All roads can lead to something good if you start on the right path when you are young. Vacation Bible School will be held at the Albin Baptist Church in June. Call the church for more information.

No matter what road you are on, you still pass by milestones. A few of our neighbors and friends celebrate their birthdays this week. Naomi Childers turns a year sweeter May 28, while Heidi Romsa and Cordell Willert share cake on May 31. Kelly Sanderson will celebrate June 7. Happy birthday to all.

Due to a scheduling conflict, the town council has moved their meeting from June 9 to June 16.

If you have any news or celebrations to share, pass them along. No matter where the road takes us, it is always good to know about others.
