Albin Day was a scorcher

88th celebration lives up to theme

Ana Manning jumps through water provided by a fire hose at Albin Day last week. Local firefighters set the hose up for children to enjoy. According to the National Weather Service, highs reached 96 degrees, so the water was a welcome relief.

The theme for Albin Day 88, "Let's Celebrate," was appropriate.

Held annually for 88 years now, the event attracted attendees both young an old for a day of good, American celebration. And it did not disappoint.

Beginning early Saturday morning, attendees were treated to a youth parade followed by an adult parade. Lunch followed thereafter at 11 a.m.

In a change of events after lunch, Laramie County Fire District 3 forewent fire hose bowling, but had an event that children loved.

As temperatures began climbing into the upper 90s that afternoon - several attendees reported it to have bro...
