Pawnee's Wahlert to compete in "world's largest rodeo"

Owen Wahlert, a student at Pawnee High School in Grover, Colorado, will compete in the tie-down roping event at the 68th annual National High School Finals Rodeo held July 17-23 in Gillette, Wyoming.

Owen Wahlert, a Grover, Colo. resident and student at Pawnee High School, has earned a spot on the Wyoming National High School rodeo team. He will be traveling to Gillette for the event, which takes place July 17-23.

Wahlert will compete in the tie-down roping category.

Featuring more than 1,650 contestants from 43 states, five Canadian Provinces and Australia, the NHSFR is the world's largest rodeo.
