Members of Kowalski Customs based out of Reading, Pennsylvania pose by their Lakester-style race car outfitted with an antique 1932 Ford four-cylinder flathead motor. In their quest to set a record for antique engines at the Bonneville Salt Flats last week, the team from Kowalski Customs based in Reading, Pennsylvania had to take an unexpected pitstop at Pine Bluffs Auto Parts on August 10 due to mechanical issues. But it wasn't the race car that needed attention, it was the 1973 Chevy Suburban towing said race car that required some TLC. After making repairs to the truck, the four team members were on their way to Utah.
"I've been doing this for 28 years," said E.J. Kowalski. "I first came out here was in 1988 with my dad."
