Hornets rout Tigers at home, 40-7

Pine Bluffs kicks off season with a big win at home

The Pine Bluffs Hornets rolled over the visiting Mitchell Tigers 40-7 last Friday to start the 2016 high school football season with a win. The week, the Hornets will be on the road to play Wind River.

Bigger doesn't always mean better and the Pine Bluffs Hornets proved that last Friday night at home hosting the Mitchell Tigers from neighboring Nebraska.

The Hornets put the hurt on the Tigers early and never looked back, cruising to a 40-7 victory to start the season.

"Friday night was a good night for the kids," said head coach Will Gray. "Mitchell was much bigger than us and is a very good football team. The kids competed and were physical on both sides of the ball."
