Coyotes battle hard in losses

Schnug led Pawnee with 153 total yards, 90 though the air and 63 on the ground. The Coyotes host Prairie this Friday before traveling to Peetz on Sept. 24.

Following an opening day 30-22 road loss to Fleming on Sept. 2, the Pawnee Coyotes six-man football squad hosted Arickaree/Woodlin last Friday, falling to 0-2 on the season with a 48-22 loss.

The first quarter was all Arickaree/Woodlin, as they put up 18 unanswered points.

The Coyotes got on the board in the second quarter, putting up eight points in the frame, but Arickaree/Woodlin added another 14 to take a 32-8 lead into the break.

Pawnee added six points in the third quarter while Arickaree/Woodlin added eight, to lead 40-14 heading into the final period.
