Driver transported following I-80 accident

The driver of this tractor-trailer sustained internal injuries and was transported Monday evening to Regional West Medical Center via Air Link. According to the Nebraska State Patrol, the lone occupant, Markelle Williams of Chicago was traveling westbound on Interstate 80 when he experienced a tire blowout at mile post 3, sending his rig into a tree and then down an embankment, where it plowed through a barbed wire fence, spilling his load along the hillside and the cab almost onto Hwy 30, which runs parallel to the Interstate in that area.
