Richard Randall Larson

Richard Randall Larson, 88, of Albin, Wyoming, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016, at the Davis Hospice Center, in Cheyenne.

Richard was born July 6, 1928, in Kimball, Nebraska, a son of the late Harry H. and Anna (Larsen) Larson.

Richard earned a bachelor's degree from Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas. He worked his entire professional life as a farmer. He married Marjorie Holt in 1952 and following her death in 2012, he married Marietta Pittman in 2013. He served proudly as a Wyoming State Senator from 1980 to 1988. He also served on the Board of Deacons for the Albin Baptist Church and later on the Board of Elders for Cheyenne Hills Church, in addition to on-going involvement in world missions. His numerous interests included golfing, hunting for Indian artifacts and supporting the Albin community. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father, a dedicated potato farmer and an elder statesman.

Richard is survived by his wife, Marietta Larson; three daughters, Trenette Barkley and husband, Bill, Gloria Durston and husband, Richard, and Mary Jane Forester and husband, David; six granddaughters; three grandsons; three great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; nephew, Jerry Randall Palm; and niece, Debra Ann Palm-Egle.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Marjorie Larson; his sister, Harriet Ann Palm; and nephew, Michael Jay Palm.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Albin Community Center with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m. An interment service will follow at the Albin Cemetery.
